Don’t let them catch you!

Emails from Meta/Facebook/TikTok/IG/all social platforms need to be handled with suspicion!
There are a lot of phishing emails from social media platforms doing the rounds and all of them designed to create some sort of fear, such as ‘Facebook will be deleting your account’ or ‘You have violated the community standards of Facebook and your account will be deleted in 14 days, appeal before then’. These emails always have a nicely, conveniently placed button right after the ‘threat’ that says ‘appeal now’ or ‘submit a review’. Click on that button, it will take you to a fake page that looks like the real deal, only for you to login and basically supply your login details to the hacker. Who can then access your real social media account, because he/she now has the login details.
99% of the communication is on the Meta/Facebook app itself. Thus, go to your App first and view the notifications and action them directly on the App.
Emails from these attackers look like the real deal! But do yourself a favour and hover over the send email address and you will notice that the email address is not even nearly related to the sender name. Bottom line, you never log in on any App from a link in an email.
